Welcome to another week of bra making!
This was the St. Patrick's weekend and the sun decided to shine!
To celebrate this I wanted a bright and comfortable make - which was the Barrett Bralette pattern by Madalynne Intimates in this beautiful yellow lace.
I've wanted to sew this yellow lace for a while but didn't know what findings would work with it.
Going through my stash, cough, cough, stock, the yellow coordinates perfectly with this off white picot and strap elastic.
The Barrett is designed for a wider bottom band but I wanted to keep it minimal with a 12mm picot.
I was unsure of this design choice. But, I figured this will be a lounge wear bra so it doesn't need to be very supportive.
Now, that I've finished and tried it on I think a wider band would have been better.
To coordinate I could have covered a wide elastic with lace, to get all the support and minimal elastic.
All in all the Barrett was a very satisfying sew and although not as supportive as it could be it's very comfortable.
This is a great sewing pattern to dip your toes into bralettes and lingerie sewing and to get back your sewjo!
What I used:
1. The Barrett Bralette sewing pattern
2. Yellow stretch lace with floral details
